Well hello there, wandering eyes.
Welcome to my blog, where I will be logging stories as I travel around. I participated in a global reporting and photography program through Northeastern University from May 11-June 13, 2011, which served as the launching point of my international reporting career. Over the course of those five weeks, I was based in Amman, Jordan and Istanbul, Turkey with a group of 18 other students and colleagues. Our collective work, from both Jordan and Turkey, can be seen here. After the program concluded, I returned to Boston and continued my studies.
This year, I participated in the international reporting program through Northeastern University once again. I returned to Amman, where I was based for 5 weeks. This time, I was joined by only 15 other students. Our work from Amman can be seen here.
My name is Anthony Savvides, and I am in my final year of study at Northeastern University, where I am pursuing a degree in journalism and sociology. I have reported for The Boston Globe and boston.com, The Huntington News, and am looking forward to working abroad, outside of my comfort zone, early in my young career as a journalist.
I thank you for visiting my blog and joining me on this incredible journey. I hope you find it as enjoyable and informative as I will.
